Alfred A. Eck, 92, of Loyalsock Township, Williamsport, PA, passed away at Valley View Nursing Center, on Oct. 1, 2021.

Al was born on Oct. 21, 1928, the son of the late Herman A. and Mabel Eiswert Eck.

He was a graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School, Class of 1946, and served as President of Student Council his junior and senior years.

He spent his early years working with his parents, brothers and sisters on the family farm.

Al served during the Korean War conflict 1950-51, and was honorably discharged February of 1951.

Al later became very active in the local manufacturing process industry. With the demand for nuclear power on the horizon, he became Director of Quality Assurance for Pullman Power Products, a local pipe fabricating company, and mechanical construction contractor, responsible for building fossil fuel and nuclear power plants in the U. S. and abroad.

He was a life-long member of St. Boniface Church in Williamsport. Al served as President of the Holy Name Society, was a member of the St. Boniface Parish Council, and co-chaired the Episcopal Visitation, a self-study evaluation.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 65 years, Mary M. Eck, who died on Dec. 5, 2020. In addition, he was preceded in death by brothers, Francis, Joseph, Lawrence, James and Leonard Eck; and sisters, Dorothy Fischer, Eileen Hamm and Joan Marie Cahn.

Surviving are his five children, Pamela (James) Hutchison, of Holden Beach, N.C.; Michelle (Donald) Meszaros of Morristown, N.J.; Keith (Lisa) Eck of Dahlonega, Ga.; Donna (William) Kauffman, of Mount Holly, N.C.; and Alan (Michelle) Eck of Cumming, Ga., 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Edward Eck; sisters, Margaret "Peg" Bubb, Jane Dincher, Mary Ann Waldman, Ruth Hauser and Shirley Tripoli.

In retired life, Al loved gardening and raising flowers. In every flower, he saw a miracle of God, filled with beauty and an expression of love.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, October 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St, Williamsport, PA and at St. Boniface Church from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, prior to the Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd, Williamsport, Pa. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
