Ann D. Stopper, 95, formerly of Valley Street in Duboistown, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024 at the Williamsport South Rehabilitation and Nursing Center while surrounded by her loving family

She was born in Williamsport on March 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Esther Mae (Nittinger) Steinbacher.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church and sang in the church's choir, she also sang in the Gesang Verein Harmonia Chorus and served as past president of VFW Post 7863 LeRoy O. Buck Auxiliary. Her true passion was her family she would never miss any of her grandchildren's events.

Her husband of 69 years, Carl J. Stopper died on April 13, 2016

She is survived by their children, Robert H. (Cathy) Stopper, Teresa "Teri" A. (Richard) Knecht, Karen M. Stopper, and Sandy J. (Randy) Glover; grandchildren, Shawn Stopper, Curtis (Fiance Sherry) Stopper, Yvonne (Bobby) Heller, Holly (Cody) Strouse, Brandon (Fiance Ashley) Lusk, Bradley (Tiffany) Lusk, Amy Mahaffey, and Bryonna (Justin) Nickles; twelve great grandchildren; sisters Cecilia Spittle and Teresa (Don) Myers.

In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Gerard A. Stopper; granddaughter, Jacqueline Ziegmann; grandson, Ireton Nickles; Sister Mary Gearhart, and brothers John, Joseph, Charles, and William Steinbacher all preceded her in death

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Family will receive friends and family from 9:30 to 10:45 am on May 27, 2024 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
