Betty Jane "Betty Boop" Orlando, 91, of Loyalsock, passed away peacefully at The Williamsport Home on Nov. 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born in Allentown, on Feb. 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Aletha and Chester Detweiler and stepfather, William Rowe.

She has been an active member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church since 1958; she enjoyed working their rummage sale and other church functions. She also volunteered at Divine Providence Hospital.

Betty was the owner of the former Clothes Closet and had worked as assistant manager of So-Fro Fabrics. She was the oldest charter member of the Loyalsock Township pool and had loved bowling in the Pacesetter Bowling League on the Pen Pals team. Her other pastimes included baking, cooking, sewing and shopping, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Her husband of 58 years, Guido "Geitz" Orlando, died Sept. 23, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Linda S. and Neal Barr, of Williamsport; grandchildren, Emily (Gerard) Farrell and Lauren (Michael) Maffei; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Owen Maffei, and Chloe and Harrison Farrell.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9 to 10:45 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 11:30 a.m. wit Rev. John J. Victoria officiating.

Burial in Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
