Betty M. Vought, 92, of Williamsport, died surrounded by family at UPMC Williamsport on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024.

She was born on July 26, 1932, a daughter to the late Joseph Jacob and Viola Kathern (Poeth) Beackley.

Betty worked as a nurse's aide at the former Leader Nursing Home now Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was extremely independent, loved her sweets, and enjoyed playing bingo, when she was younger, she enjoyed camping and spending time at the beach, but her greatest joy was her family.

Betty was very involved at the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church and their many mission programs.

She is survived by six living children; Daniel "Danny" (Sandra) Vought, Debra (Stephen) Galchefski, Donald Vought Jr., James Vought, Brenda (Scott) Benson, and Joyce (Marc) Cendoma; grandchildren, Danielle, Kenny, Lisa, Dawn, Alan, Shawna, Lisa, Christopher, Kylie, Gabe, Nicole, Stephanie, and Stephen; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her two sons; Glenn and Russell Vought, as well as brother Joseph R. Beackley.

Burial at Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
