Charles Augustine Kiernan 72, born in Pittsburgh September 23, 1951 died in Williamsport PA on February 23, 2024.

He was preceded in death by parents Arthur Francis Kiernan and Dolores McCormick Kiernan and brother Thomas Aquinas Kiernan.

After 25 years with the Liberty Mutual Group of Boston, he retired as the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Director. Charles graduated from St. Joseph High School in Williamsport PA , the Pittsburgh Art Institute and the University of Pittsburgh. After relocating to the Boston area, he studied addictions at Rutgers University and the University of Massachusetts. He enjoyed Theater and the Arts and was a member of the Haydn and Haydn Society. He was an artist, a musician and, above all else, a kind generous, witty man. Many loved Chuck, who was active in the recovery community all his adult life. He was quick with a joke and had an engaging presence.

Chuck is survived by his daughter Sarah Kiernan of Brooklyn NY and son, Nathan Kiernan of Medford MA as well as his former wife, Nancy Kiernan of Narragansett Ri. In addition, he is survived by his brothers and sisters Arthur "Brian Funnagan" Kiernan, Dolores Kiernan Bramer, Kassie (Eugene)\Kiernan Nowak, John Kiernan, Eleanor (Ellie) Kiernan Fox, Mary (Joseph) Kiernan Antonioli, and Pat Kiernan, as well as fourteen nieces and nephews. He was loved by those who knew him for his kind and generous soul.

Calling hours will be 10 - 11:30 at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport PA on March 9th, 2024 with an invocation at 11:30a by rev. Tom Brokaw followed by a lunch for the family and their out of town guests.

There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Audubon Society or your local AA Chapter.
