David C. Baier, 65, of Bastress Twp. passed away April 19, 2019 on his farm doing the work he loved. Born in Bastress Twp. on July 14, 1953 he was the son of Charles A. and Ann E. Baier.

Dave was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM Catholic Church in Bastress. He was preparing to enjoy retirement this July, after 48 years of service in the asphalt industry, starting with George Logue and 35 years with HRI Inc. as Plant Superintendent.

Dave was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He walked with purpose in all he did.  Those who knew him would describe him as loyal, honorable, humble and above all honest.  His labor of love was devoting time and energy to serve his family and others.

He and his wife, the former Karen Ann Hurne, would have celebrated their 36 ^th wedding anniversary May 14 ^th .

Surviving in addition to this wife are children Shaunda M. (Shawn) Eck of Williamsport, Tara D. (Kevin) Nash of Williamsport, Cassandra Baier of Ames, IA, grandchildren Malia, Elijah, and Gabriel Eck, and one expected from the Nash family in November; three brothers and five sisters: Sharon M. (Parvin) Miller of Elimsport, Carol A. (James) Helter of Montoursville, John W. Baier of Gainesville, Fla, Ronald E. (Mary) Baier of Jersey Shore, Debora R. (John) Isaacson of Winfield, Michelle L. (Kurt) Steinbacher of Salladasburg, Shirley Wilson, Glen Burnie Md. and Joseph M. Baier of Williamsport. He was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Baier and a brother, Paul M. Baier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Rd., 11 a.m. Wednesday morning with his pastor, the Rev. Bert S. Kozen V.F. , officiating.

The family will receive friends and family at the Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E Third Street from Noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the rosary being recited at 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or a charity of choice in his honor.
