David N. Estep, 75, of Hughesville, passed away at home on April 4, 2026 with his loving wife by his side.

David was born in Gettysburg on March 21, 1951, a son to the late Julian N. and Mary Jane (Conley) Estep. Being raised surrounded by Gettysburg's deep-rooted history, it sparked a life-long love for local history.

David attended Williamsport Area Community College and worked as a Manager of Bridgestone Tire, the former Firestone Tire Company, for 15 years, Monro Tire 10 years, Cornell Store Fronts 10 years and Allied Services 7 years.

In addition to loving local history, David enjoyed kayaking, biking, hiking, camping, and Geocaching. David always kept people laughing with his unique humor & antics and he will be greatly missed by many friends who admired his intelligence, kindness and love of the outdoors. He was a volunteer for the Susquehanna Greenway and the North Branch Land Trust, and a proud member of the 444 Club, a group of individuals who successfully paddled all 444 miles of the north branch of the Susquehanna River, from Cooperstown NY to the Chesapeake Bay.

David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon M. Estep; sister Mary Anne (James) Miller; niece Genevieve M. (James) Miller-Beck; nephew Matthew D. Miller; great-nieces Stephanie and Brooke; great-nephews Phineas and Charles; as well as his feline fur babies, Willow and Shadow.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brothers Michael J. Estep and James C. Estep; as well as niece-in-law Rhonda Miller.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions be made in David's name to (WAWHO We are Women Helping Others) or Susquehanna Greenway Partnership.
