Donna Ann (Hutchinson) Martino, 86, formerly of Cogan Station, PA, most recently a resident of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, surrounded by her family, including her seven beloved grandchildren, after a recent illness.  She was born in Montgomery, PA, to loving parents Donald and Helen (Mauck) Hutchinson on February 25, 1937.

Pursuing her dreams of working with children, she attended Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA, where she enjoyed studying to become an elementary school teacher.  She went on to complete a Master's of Education degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.  She then taught kindergarten in the Williamsport Area School District schools, where she met her late husband, John Francis Martino, who was also a teacher.  They enjoyed a wonderfully close and loving marriage until John's passing on February 14, 1998.

Donna is survived by her two children, Donald (Eileen) Martino of Trout Run, PA, and Jill (Trent) Sandifur of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren: Addison, Josette, John, Delaney, Tillman, Nessa, and Simone Sandifur; as well as beloved extended family and friends.

Donna loved children and spent many years of her life teaching and caring for both her own children and other people's children.  She loved to tell fun stories about the children she had in her kindergarten classes and would often wonder what they were doing as they grew up.  She was an incredibly devoted and loving mother to her own two children and did everything she could to always ensure they felt loved.  In her later years, she became "Nonna" to her seven grandchildren and moved to Indianapolis to care for and love all of them.  She spent countless hours daily with her daughter and grandchildren for many years and went on a great number of fun adventures with them all around the Midwest.  She also frequently traveled with the extended Sandifur family on vacations to various parts of the United States, including a recent trip this past summer to New York City where she was able to see two Broadway shows.  She absolutely treasured these trips because she loved sharing fun times and making memories with her family.

Donna's life was consistently anchored by her strong Christian faith and values.  She always looked to God to guide and support her through the inevitable ups and downs of life.  She modeled to all her family and friends the utmost importance of a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  She also demonstrated her love and gratitude for her family by creating delicious baked goods and meals for their enjoyment, such as her renowned macaroni and cheese, icing cookies, and deviled eggs.

Donna's legacy will carry on forever reminding us to always put faith and family first.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 12:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Donna's memory to the Toys for Tots Foundation or another charity focused on enriching and improving children's lives.
