Dorland Raymond Bridgland of Alexandria, Virginia peacefully passed away in the early morning of Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 95.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Virginia Hixson Bridgland, his two daughters, Karen Bailey and Sheila Hernandez, his son-in­ law, William Bailey, and his three grandchildren, Jonquil Bailey, Jasmine Bailey, and Chantel Bailey.

An army veteran of World War II, Dorland served as Sergeant of the 86th Airdrome Squadron. He will be remembered for his clever wit and sense of humor, his lifelong passion for gardening, his love for fishing, and his devotion to his family.

A viewing will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28 at 12:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Dorland will be buried in Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the beloved city of his birth, on Monday, December 30 at 11:00am.
