Douglas F. Hofford, 66, of Loyalsock Twp. passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Doug had been diagnosed and was undergoing treatment for stage 4 liver cancer since June of 2023.

Doug was born in Jersey Shore on August 6, 1957, a son of the late Kenneth Hofford and Rose Marie Hill. He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and of the Radiology Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Doug retired from the radiology department at Berwick Hospital in 2023.

He played softball at Elm Park for many years, he was a Huge Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed going to Lycoming College games and Williamsport Crosscutters games. Doug was also a member Sons of Italy, Lodge 2786, Williamsport. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, his grandchildren were his everything! He was an Amazing Pappy! He never missed a chance to go to a baseball game, soccer game, school event, or birthday party for his grandchildren. He was so very proud of each and everyone of them!

He and his wife, Nancy J. (Girio) Hofford, have been together for 30 years and were married July 12, 1996. In addition to his wife, surviving are Doug's children; Nichelle (Tim) Kieffer of Williamsport, Natalie (Jon) Pierre of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Susanna Kieffer, Connor Kieffer, McKayla Pierre and Raegan Pierre; brother-in-law Chris (Lori) Girio of Muncy, sisters-in-law Marcia Girio (Anthony) Tanner, Linda Girio Strouse of South Williamsport.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m.
