Eleanor L. "Ellie" Clayton, 96, of Williamsport, passed at The Williamsport Home on July 22, 2026.

She was born in Mechanicsburg, one of nine children to the late Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Ellie was a member of the Pine Street United Methodist Church in Williamsport and worked for many years at the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue before retiring in 1993.

Ellie married her beloved husband, James M. Clayton, on October 19, 1948, and together they celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing on August 4, 2017.

Surviving are sons, James E. Clayton of Williamsport, and Gary D. Clayton of Mississippi, as well as her dear friend Michele Dincher.

In addition to her parents and husband James, Ellie was preceded in death by her 8 siblings, and two grandchildren.
