Emerita Jurado Fajardo

Born September 17, 1948, in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was the daughter of Antonio and Hermogena (Urubio) Jurado. She graduated in 1969 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. Emmie married the love of her life, Dr. Arturo Abrantes Fajardo, and they shared almost 16 years of marriage. For the last 35 years, Emmie single-handedly raised her four daughters with the same boldness and unwavering strength she embodied.

Emmie had many roles in her life: a loving wife, a daughter, a sister, auntie, cousin, and friend, but her favorites were mom and Lola. She lived a life that was nothing short of amazing because of her love for God and for her family - her four daughters, her four sons-in-law, and her 13 grandchildren. Her radiant smile lit up any room, and her exuberant laughter could be heard from afar. She enjoyed going to the beach, dancing, going to the casinos with her friends, and traveling with her close family. She lived life to the fullest, loved spending time with her daughters, and most especially adored her grandchildren. Her true joy was "making her girls happy". She passed away peacefully on the morning of January 23, 2025, at the age of 76. In her final days, Emmie was visited by family and friends from near and far.

We feel blessed to have had these past few days at home with her. We feel blessed with all the memories from the wonderful trips she spoiled us with and the fabulous times we all shared. We feel blessed knowing that our beautiful mom is finally at peace with her loved ones in heaven. Emmie was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband.

She always enjoyed being with her family and loved being the matriarch of all 21 of us. Emmie will be lovingly missed by her companion, Donald Cortese, her children, Mimi Monina Fajardo (Tien Alex) Nguyen, Gigi Kristina Fajardo (Edward John) Dammer, Emy Angeli Fajardo (Matthew) Pisaeno, Jennifer Fajardo (Robert Ethan) Blough; her grandchildren Alexander, Sophia and Gabe Nguyen; Artie, Dietrich, and John Dammer; Giselle, Giuliana, and Giovanna Pisaeno; Eliza, Genevieve, Scarlett, and Oliver Blough; her brother Mauro Jurado and his family, countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Emmie's beautiful legacy will live on.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport, PA, at 10:00 am with Rev. Shawn Simchock officiating.
