Emil E. Waldman, 95, formerly of Elmira St., Williamsport, a resident of Mansfield, passed away In Millersville, MD, on Sunday June 16, 2019, with two of his loving daughters by his side.

He was born in Williamsport on Nov. 30, 1923, a son of William C. and Martha C. Fischer Waldman.

He literally flew around the world as he served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with the 769 ^th Bomb Sqdn. of the 462 ^nd Bomb Group in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 until 1945 earning the rank of Staff Sgt.  Following an honorable discharge, he attended Lycoming and Bucknell Colleges.

He started as a station agent with All American Airways in 1949 and went on to hold positions as station manager and district manager as it evolved into Allegheny Airlines and later USAir. He was widely respected within the industry and was a key member of the merger committees when Lake Central and Mohawk Airlines merged with Allegheny.  He retired in 1985, returning home to Williamsport.

Never was there a man more devoted to his family – he was willing to make any sacrifice for them. Their happiness and comfort were his first considerations. His love for them was as beautiful as it was great.  He was considerate and kind, always rendering helpful deeds that endeared him to those who knew him best.  He had a very strong faith, was active in his church, helped with Boy Scouts, sang in the choir, and was an usher.

In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He took great pride in his flower beds and his well-groomed landscaping, which were admired and enjoyed by everyone.

His wife of over 70 years, the former Wilhelmina Szybist died Dec. 20, 2017. Surviving are his children Mikki (Larry) Cole of Milan, William (Marcia) Waldman of Mansfield, Emil Waldman Jr. of Portsmouth, NH, Ann and Mary Lynn Waldman of Millersville, MD, Paul Waldman of Tampa, FL., grandchildren; Janie (Reed Maryott) Cole, Joshua (Amy) Waldman, Amanda (Steve) Mallacoccio, Logan Waldman, great grandchildren; Allison and Calvin Waldman, Dillon and Gavin Maryott, siblings; John, William, Vincent, and Herman Joseph Waldman, Lena Anderson and Teresa Staib.

In addition to his parents and wife, two siblings also preceded him in death, Cletus Waldman Sr. and Sister Cletus Waldman S.C.C.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3 ^rd St., Williamsport on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd. Williamsport with the Rev. William Corcoran officiating.

Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
