Eugene E. Schuler Sr., 82, of Williamsport, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024.

Gene was born in Williamsport on March 29, 1941, a son of Charles E. and Rose E. (Hulihan) Schuler.

A retired union painter from Union Local 41 Wilkes-Barre, District Council 71 Philadelphia.
Gene was a member of the Young Men's Democratic Club, American Legion ­ Garrett-Cochran Post #1 and the former VFW Post 844.

Surviving are his son, William (Jen) Schuler of West Salem, OH; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Schuler of Hughesville, Ronald (Alice) Schuler of Montoursville; sisters, Mary Burchanowski of Montoursville and Shirley Mohney of Cogan Station.

In addition to his parents, two sons, Timothy M. Schuler and Eugene E. "Geno" Schuler Jr. and brothers, Joseph and Charles Schuler.

The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport on Sat., Jan. 27, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11, with a funeral service in Gene's memory at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Praying Hands Mausoleum of Wildwood Cemetery.
