Frederick L. Savidge Sr., 81, formerly of Williamsport and most recently a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away at Valley View Nursing Center on July 22, 2019.

Fred was born in Danville on April 1, 1938, a son of George F. and Theresa E. (Savery) Savidge.

He retired after 28 years in sales at Florida Petroleum Corp. While in Florida he was active in and attended St. John Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach. He was an avid NASCAR fan and sports enthusiast. Fred was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians. Fred also enjoyed model railroading and model planes. Fred was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his two sons and their families, Frederick L. Savidge II, of Coudersport, and Lance W. (Rachel) Savidge, of Loyalsock Township; grandchildren, Madison, Kaitlyn, Molly, Frederick L. III, and Kylie; his significant other, Barbara Collins, and her grandchildren, Sophia and Jack; siblings, Rosemary (Randy) Almony, Thomas (Kris) Savidge, Jerry (Joanne) Savidge, and Libby (George) Stragand.

In addition to his parents, his former wife, Nancy Wolyniec Savidge, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. William Corcoran, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
