Howard (Whitey) Robert Mausteller

March 13, 1946-May 20, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Howard (Whitey) Mausteller of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family at UPMC Williamsport on May 20, 2026 at the age of 80.

Whitey was born on March 13, 1946, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Howard and Marjorie (Shuler) Mausteller. While growing up, Whitey was a star athlete, who played sports from childhood into adulthood. He was a hard worker, who worked full time and mowed several lawns in East End. He was often seen pushing his lawnmower down the street going from home to home.

Whitey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved to be around people and made friends easily. Wherever he went, everyone knew him and loved catching up with him. He was a present father and always made sure everyone was happy. He was a strong man who faced many challenging health issues. Despite the several health battles he never gave up and always reassured his family that "he is a fighter and is not giving up."  Whitey was a stubborn man but loved fiercely. He loved spending time with his family, celebrating holidays, sitting around a table enjoying good food, being a part of celebrating his grandkids achievements, and just sitting in the living room sharing stories.

Whitey found great joy in watching sports and attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He was a proud dad and grandfather and never missed an event. He was an avid pin trader and spent many days at the Little League World Series and Genetti excitedly trading his custom pins!  Whitey was a devoted Penn State fan, and that was clear when you walked in his house which was decorated with Penn State memorabilia.

Whitey's life will be forever cherished by his wife, Sandra (Mikey) Mausteller. Whitey and Mikey celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2026.  Together, they shared many similar interests such as gardening, working in the yard, taking rides while listening to the oldies, and going to yard sales. Whitey was greatly loved by his daughters, Lisa (Chris) Ritter and Carrie (Adam) Kistner, and son, Tyler (Serena) Mausteller; his grandchildren, Paige and Kaiser Kistner and Nova and Landyn Mausteller. He had close friends and family who he loved dearly.

Whitey will joyfully join his parents; Howard and Marjorie Mausteller, and his sisters, Fay Ann Welshans, Barbara Feigles, and Connie Ulmer. Whitey was a faithful man and found peace in knowing he was going to Heavan to be with his family that he greatly missed.

The family will honor Whitey privately through a small celebration of life.
