James E. Powell, 77, of Muncy passed away at UPMC Susquehanna on March 10, 2020 following an extended illness.

Jim was born in Lewisburg on August 31, 1942, a son of William Roughton Powell and Pauline Bess Gardner. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he worked as a diesel mechanic for many years at Eastern Industries.

On April 30, 1990, at Mountainside Assembly of God Church, Shamokin, he married Joanne Derk. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2015.

Jim had many hobbies and was a skilled craftsman. He was a model railroad and train enthusiast. He could always be found chatting with his friends at the local Dunkin' Donuts.

In addition to his parents and wife, his brother Ernest Powell preceded him in death.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and Edward Parchuke, Rachel and Ben Rhoades; a step-son, Matthew Knittle; four grandchildren, Reghan, Mckenzie and Crew Parchuke, Violet Rhoades, a sister, Elizabeth Sweet and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at the American Legion, 515 Legion Rd, Muncy, PA had to be canceled due to circumstances beyond the families control. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support.
