Jessie Hafner (née Law) of Williamsport passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport surrounded by her loving family.  She was 101 years old.

Jessie was born on June 24, 1924, in Toronto, Canada, daughter of the late Robert and Hannah (Baker) Law.  She was preceded in death by her four siblings and her loving husband John S. Hafner who died in 1987. She is survived by four children, six grandchildren, and their families: Janet H. Harris (David N.) of Williamsport, Stephen R. Hafner of Williamsport, Brian D. Hafner (Christine) of New Hope, Julia C. Hoot (Eric) of Hughesville; and grandchildren Hannah Harris; Andrew, Neal, and Aaron Hafner; Dr. Erica Hoot, and Dr. Jonathan Hoot (Halley).

Jessie was a homemaker and retired as an assistant reference librarian at Williamsport Area Community College, now Penn College of Technology. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Williamsport.  An avid reader and lover of opera and classical music, she was a volunteer at the James V. Brown Library and passionate attendee of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11 from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tammey Edkin at the Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 East 3rd St., Williamsport, PA.  Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, PA.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, 220 West 4th St., Williamsport, PA 17701; The James V. Brown Library, 19 East 4th St., Williamsport, PA 17701; and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
