On March 30, 2025, John M. Good, Jr. passed away quietly at home.  Born July 10, 1939, he was the son of the late John M. Good, Sr. and Amelia V. (Donnell) Good.  Surviving are his wife, the former K. Coleen McGrail, sons John Mark Good III, Gregory C. Good (Kim), and Timothy A. Good (Deb Potter).  In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Meghan, John, Elizabeth (Kyle Reighard), Edward (Alexis Sheeto), Laura (Thomas Shea), Lauren (Ryan Jones), Matthew (Caitlin), Timothy, and Hunter Good, Lindsay Ditty (Braxton), and Robert and Thomas Giba as well as several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Susan V. Good; father-in-law, Glen McGrail; sister-in-law, Erin Dove; nephew, Caleb Dove; and great nephew, Miles Pfirman.

John was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School and Lycoming College with B.S.  degrees in elementary education and history.  He was a teacher for Williamsport Area School District for 32 ½ years.  In addition to teaching John was employed by Stroehmann's Bakery for a few years and worked summers as the playground supervisor for Williamsport city parks and recreation.

John loved sports, especially baseball. He would root for any team that could beat the Yankees.  John also loved running, having coached girls' track and field at Curtin Middle School and cross country at Williamsport Area High School.

John was an avid reader his whole life.  He loved history and enjoyed giving tours of Gettysburg to friends and family.

John loved children and gave special nicknames to many of them. He will forever be remembered by everyone whose lives he touched, whether it be his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, students, or athletes.

Visitation will be held at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 6 until 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 702 W. 4th St., Williamsport, PA on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10 a.m.  Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
