John "Spike" H. Neylon Sr., 84, longtime resident of Franklin St., passed away at Valley View Nursing Center on Feb. 19, 2024, while surrounded by loving family.
Born in Williamsport on November 23, 1939, he was a son of Robert J. Neylon Sr. and Margaret (Myers) Neylon.
Spike was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, and worked the majority of his life for Halls Motor Transit, Branch Motor Express and Yellow Freight as a truck driver.
He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. Spike was a life member of the Gesang Verein Harmonia, a member of the Young Men's Republican Club and The Keystone League. He was also a 10 gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his sons, tinkering on their cars and spending his time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Teresa "Terry" A. (Sidler) Neylon.
In addition to his wife Terry, he is survived by their sons; John (Amy) Neylon Jr. of Williamsport, Joseph R. (Karen) Neylon of Clover, SC., Dave E. (Crissy) Neylon of Williamsport; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Jacob, Alexandria, Nathan, Briana, Brittney and Charlotte; seven great grandchildren, a sister Margaret Johnson of Jersey Shore and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, a granddaughter, Julia Iva Neylon and brothers; Robert J. Neylon Jr. and James A. Neylon preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to services, at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on February 22, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport PA 17701 with Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Janet Weis Children's Hospital, 100 North Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822 or Lycoming County S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
