Joseph Marino Poretta, 88, of Williamsport, passed at home on January 12, 2024, surrounded by family.

He was born on April 24, 1935, a son to the late David and Assunta (DiRocco) Poretta.

Joseph was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High School and went on to serve in the Army.  He retired from Fairfield Ford in 1997. He very much enjoyed playing cards with his great-grandchildren.

His wife of 63 years, the former Florence J. Dymeck, preceded him in death on October 20, 2022.

He is survived by their children, Cynthia Sterner of Pottsville, David Poretta of Jersey Shore, and Christina Engel of Turbotville; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister Filitea Dean, as well as many cousins.

The family will receive friends and family from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 18th 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport PA 17701.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Friday January 19, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, with Father David W, Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
