Obituary

Kay F. Snyder, (80), passed away peacefully at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport on Thursday, November 5, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in 1946, Kay was the daughter of the late Victor and Thelma Hartsock.

Kay retired from the former Williamsport Hospital where she worked on various units for 40 years.

Kay was a life member of Montoursville Post 104 American Legion where she held numerous officer positions. At the state level, Kay served as Children and Youth chairperson for several years. She was also a member of Bald Eagle Ridge Runners camping club in Beech Creek, PA. While her daughter was in school, Kay was a devoted band parent.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Jay Hartsock, Sr. and Bill Hartsock. Survivors include her daughter Kristin; and two grand puppies, Teddy and Burch. Kay is survived by her sister Ann Weaver (Clay); brother Dan Hartsock (Mary Lou); sister-in-law Sue Gable; and half-sister Annette Findling along with several beloved extended family members (cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families). She enjoyed camping, traveling, and quilting. Her faithful companion, Teddy, was always nearby to comfort her.

Granting her wishes, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Kidney Fund at 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockvale, MD 20852 with memo line: In memory of Kay F. Snyder.

Mom,

Thank you for being “my mom.” There are no words to express how much ‘the boys’ and I will miss you. Thank you for all the opportunities that you provided me with while growing up. Our talks and trips will continue to hold such special memories for me. Even though these past ten years have been a roller coaster ride for both of us, you are the bravest and strongest person I know. Your strength and resilience never cease to amaze me.

Hugs and kisses to Gram and Pop and our other relatives in Heaven.

Love you,

Kris
