Larry Joseph Hartsock, 74, died peacefully the morning of March 13, 2020 with his loving family members by his side.

Born September 2, 1945, in Williamsport, PA, he was the son of the late Elwood P. Hartsock and Bernadine M. Hartsock (Saar). He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald.

Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dorothy of Loyalsock, his brother, Karl of Pemberton, NJ, two son's Kevin (Lori) and John (Crystal), and three grandchildren, Kerrigan, Tyler and Caleb. With his marriage to Dorothy in 1995, Larry's family grew. They played a significant role in his life—and he in theirs. He was fortunate to have one step-daughter, Vittoria (John), three step-son's, Antonio, Joseph and Michael, and eight step-grandchildren, John, Anthony, Matt, Rachel, Patrick, Marlayna, Michael, and Madilyn.

Larry attended Loyalsock Senior High School and was a member of the basketball and football teams. At a young age, he learned the meaning of hard work while assisting his father mowing lawns and landscaping. In the late 1960s, Larry began employment at Avco-Lycoming Engines where he proudly worked for 44 years. He was a recognized expert in assembling parts, building piston engines and enjoyed passing on his knowledge to others as a trainer.

He was a generous man, selflessly giving of his time to those in need. Larry worked hard to provide for his entire family and ensured he was present in their lives. His sons, particularly, were lucky to have him as their baseball coach. He learned the sport just for them, taught them how to play and never missed a practice, game and even ensured the Mill Creek Little League fields were manicured for play. Larry loved keeping his lawn tidy and being busy outdoors, hunting and fishing. Also, he enjoyed working with his hands and could fix just about anything. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as attending the family's sporting and school events.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport ‪on March 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM, The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM. until the time of the Mass.
