Laurita C. (Sullivan) Stout, former city resident, died on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Douglas, Georgia. Her husband, John D. Stout, died on June 27, 2002.

Born in Williamsport on October 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary L. (McDermott) Sullivan.

Laurita attended the former St. Joseph High School, graduating in 1959.  A graduate, also, of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Elmira, New York, she was a registered nurse for over fifty years, and retired from Taylor Regional Hospital, Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Besides her husband and parents, Laurita was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary L. and Thomas V. Connor.

She is survived by a brother, Reverend William J. Sullivan, Sykesville, Maryland; stepdaughter, Karen Cooper, Douglas, Georgia; step-grandsons, Julian Cooper and Thomas Cooper; nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Douglas, Georgia on June 25, 2025. A Graveside Service will be held July 10, 2025 at 11:00am at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
