Mary L. Burkhart, 93, of Williamsport, passed away at home on Dec. 5, 2019.

Mary was born in Williamsport on Nov. 10, 1926, a daughter of Frank and Sadie (Myers) Lutz.

She was a member St. Joseph The Worker Parish and both her and her husband, John were 1945 graduates of the former St. Joseph High School.

She and her husband, John T. Burkhart, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 12, 2019.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Keith (Karrie) Burkhart Jr., of Montoursville, Steve Burkhart, of Williamsport; two daughters, Lynn Burkhart, of Williamsport, and Karen Burkhart, of Denver, Col.; grandchildren, Keith Jr., Lindsay Guerriero, Noah Jacobson, Amber Burkhart; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, two sisters, Kathryn Smedley and Peggy Staib, preceded her in death.

The family will receive family and friends in the church's portico on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, from 9 to 10 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Williamsport.
