Mary M. Lape, 92, formerly of Oval, most recently of Shippensburg, passed on July 10th, 2025.

She was born in Williamsport, PA on April 29, 1933, a daughter of the late Reed Hafer and Margaret Shearer Hafer, raised by her late Aunt Rose after losing her mother in 1934.

Mary and her husband, Rodney E. Lape, celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing on Feb. 28, 2010.

She is survived by their children, Scott D. Lape, Todd G. Lape; son-in-law, Gaspar Hernandez; 6 grandchildren; Justin Nguyen, spouse, Jennifer Nguyen, Kendra Romero Torres, spouse Noe Torres, Emily Nguyen, long-time companion/partner, Luis Arias, Andrew, Matthew, and Michael Lape, 6 great-grandchildren; as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael; daughter, Dawn Marie Hernandez; and great-grandson Ethan Wahler.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday July 17, 2025 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 at 1:30pm on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with Rev. Lon Williams officiating. Burial to follow at Montoursville Cemetery.
