Mary Kaye Shaffer, 74, a long-time resident of South Williamsport, most recently of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away at her home in South Carolina on Monday, October 9, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and her legacy lives on through her family.

Mary Kaye was born in Williamsport on September 4, 1949, the daughter of Patrick M. and Mary E. (McGrail) Griffin. She was a former member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. Mary Kaye was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Her husband of 35 years, W. Edward Shaffer Jr., died January 15, 2006. She is survived by her significant other of sixteen years, W. James (Jim) Drake.

Also surviving are her four children; Edward P. (Lauren) Shaffer, Erica L. (Christopher) Molino, Brian G. Shaffer-Wicks and Rachel E. (Michael) Jenks; grandchildren, Averie, Kinsey, Kalen, Moise, Griffin, McGwire, Tayge, Quaid, Grady, Kingston, Langston, Lexington, Genevieve, Skylar, Julia and Alexander; sisters, Lee Ann (Dale) Vollman and Patrice E. (Wade) Walters; numerous nieces and nephews; and her significant other's son, Timmy (Laura) Drake and their two children, Jillian and Derek.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 until the time of the service.

A funeral service will be held at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
