Michael A. Briel , 70 of Williamsport passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on May 3, 2026.

Michael was born on April 10, 1956 in Williamsport and his the son of Francis Briel Sr. and Dorothy Hayes.

Michael was a true sports enthusiast with a deep passion for playing baseball and basketball. He coached  baseball for Brandon little league , he also was a referee for the John Bower League . He enjoyed watching his beloved New York Yankees , New York jets and Penn State. He a very deep passion for music especially listening to it when he would ride his scooter all around Williamsport. He also loved to garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching football with Chelsea Logan , and Jacob they had a family tradition of watching the NFL draft and the Superbowl while enjoying his beloved Park pizza and Venice pizza . He also watched every Yankees game with his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed camping, cooking taking the love of his wife Deb to many concerts with his brothers and countless friends . He also enjoyed gardening loved to grow tomato plants the most.

He is survived by his wife Deborah A Briel; a daughter Chelsea L Briel ( Coy Reese ); his two brothers William Briel Sr. (Susan Briel ), and Robert Briel; his three grandchildren Jacob M Hoffman Sophia A Briel, and Logan A. Briel; and his nieces and nephews .

Michael was predeceased by his son Michael Briel Jr. and his parents Francis Briel Sr. & Susan Daly, his brother Francis Briel JR.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with the celebration continuing until 5pm at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St. Williamsport  followed by a family picnic style dinner at the Briel House.
