Michael R. DeSanto, 77, of Williamsport, died unexpectedly on April 25, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.

Mike was born in Williamsport on January 21, 1947, a son of the late Robert L. and Patricia J. (Connell) DeSanto. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and went on to graduate from Lock Haven Teachers College, now Lock Haven University. From 1969 until 1989 he taught in the Hughesville School District, after retirement from teaching he obtained his real estate license and worked as an agent for Fish Real Estate.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and a Notre Dame fan.

His wife of 51 years, Susan (West) DeSanto, died January 17, 2020.

Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (George) Holtzapple of South Williamsport; grandchildren, Hailey and Emily Holtzapple; sibling, Joseph R. DeSanto (Brenda) of South Williamsport, James R. DeSanto (Treasa) of Williamsport, Bonnie Jo Shearer (Chet) of Montoursville, Peter R. DeSanto and Daniel R. DeSanto both of Williamsport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. 4th St., Williamsport, burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
