Patrick John Callahan, 67, of Plunketts Creek Twp., PA, died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at home on December 4,2024.

He was born August 16, 1957 in Oil City PA to John C. and K. Joan (Nelson) Callahan, the fourth of their four children.

His brother Dan lives in Randolph NY with his wife Nancy. His two sisters, Karen Joan (Callahan) Gold and Nancy E. Callahan, preceded him in death.

He graduated from Oil City High School in 1975 and was employed by Boise Cascade Corporation. He accepted transfers to Boise locations such as Shreveport LA, St. Louis MO, and Atlanta GA. At the age of 29, Pat enlisted in the US Army, and in addition to assignments to bases in San Francisco CA and Fort Leonard Wood MO, he was deployed to South Korea.

In 2017 he married Deidre Daniels of Franklin PA, who survives. In addition to his wife, brother, and sister-in-law, his survivors include nephews Liam and Kevin Callahan of Randolph, niece Bridget Wenger-White of Vancouver WA, nephews Josh Wenger of Kenny Lake AK, and Sam Gold of Clarion PA. He was also close to his first cousin, Sue Williams of Oil City.

He played varsity basketball at OCHS and enjoyed golf. A Steelers fan to the bone, he loved spirited conversations about sports. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh . He was devoted to his family, calling faraway relatives just to touch base and never failing to call on birthdays.

Burial will be at Bath National Military Cemetery in Bath NY. Plans for a Celebration of Life are incomplete at present but will be announced.
