Richard P. Gelnett, 82, of Williamsport, passed at UPMC Williamsport on December 19, 2023.

He was born in Williamsport on August 26, 1941, a son to the late Francis Samuel and Edith Emelia (Palm) Gelnett.

He retired from Lonza Chemical Manufacturing, and was always happy to be at home. Richard was a very calm and compassionate man, known for being willing to do anything for anyone. He was a great dad and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family, as well as his fur babies.

Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He and his wife, the former Judith Lee Rothrock, were married for 40 years before her passing in 2006.

He is survived by their daughter, Felicia L. Gelnett of Williamsport; daughter-in-law, Lisa Gelnett of Williamsport; grandchildren, Fletcher S. Gelnett, Maggie E. Gelnett, and Milo J. Gelnett.

In addition to his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Garth Richard Gelnett.

Per Richard's wishes, there will be no services.
