Richard H. "Dick" Wetzel, 96, of Williamsport, died at home on May 10, 2024.

Dick was born in Williamsport on July 3, 1927, a son of Edward and Rose (Gramlich) Wetzel. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette after 48 years and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, June Weaver Wetzel; sons, Michael Wetzel, Thomas Wetzel and Randy (Donna) Wetzel all of Loyalsock Twp.; grandchildren, Seth Wetzel and Leann (Iggy) Scarfo; great grandchildren, Dominic and Daelyn Scarfo.

In addition to his parents, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends from 9 to 10 am on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, PA with his pastor, Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
