Rita M. Sechrist, 99, of Williamsport, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Born in Williamsport on December 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Margaret (Murphy) Sechrist.

Rita was cherished as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great‑aunt, great‑great‑aunt, and loyal friend. She had a gift for connecting with people, and her warm, outgoing personality touched countless lives.

Throughout her career, Rita served her community with kindness and dedication. She first worked at a local community pharmacy on Washington Boulevard in Williamsport, later spending twelve years at the Presbyterian Home, and ultimately concluding her career at the Williamsport Home. Her presence, compassion, and steady care left a lasting impact on residents, their families, and the many colleagues who came to admire her.

Rita will be remembered with deep affection and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. "Bob" Sechrist, Sr.; sister, Theresa (Sechrist) Slavin of Salisbury, MD; nephews, Ronald (Ronnie) Sechrist, and Jack Sechrist. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert (Bobbie) Sechrist, Jr. (Rose) of California; Michael Slavin (Alicia) of San Antonio, TX; Steve Sechrist (Patricia) of Delaware, Patricia Slavin of Houston, TX; Mary Anne (Sechrist) Swain (Donald) of Delaware, and Cynthia (Slavin) Feist (Timothy) of Salisbury, MD; great nieces and nephews, Heather Slavin, Michele Cobb (Luke), Michael Miller, Devin Feist (Jacqueline), Jocelyn Feist; and great, great-nieces McKenna and Ryleigh.
