Ruth W. Blase, 95, of Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

Ruth was born in Lititz, Lancaster County, on October 3, 1923, a daughter of Irvin and Alice (Williams) Eckert.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader, Beautician and had been employed at Worth's , located on Pine St, and retired from Brodart's Book Division. Ruth enjoyed bingo, crocheting, picnic's, traveling on bus trips and sitting on the porch.

Her husband, Alfred E. Blase died July 31, 1982.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Marie and Frank Pasnello of Williamsport, eight grandchildren; Michael (Angela) Gardner, with whom she lived with for 14 years, Denise Butler, Eugene (Bernadine) Blase Jr., Mary Oldt, Dianna Blase and Richard (Jolene) Blase, Amber (Terrance) Pasnello, Dustin (Kelli) Pasnello and a daughter in law, Kelly Blase, sixteen great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, a son Eugene B. Blase Sr., great grandson, Kalib Blase, sisters, Mildred Whitmer, Arlene Booker, Gracie Dussinger, brother Warren and Harold Eckert, all preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 West Fourth St., Williamsport, 10 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019, with the Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating.

Burial in Resurrection Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
