Ruth I Hauser, 97, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.

Ruth was born on November 3, 1926, on the farm in Oval, one of 16 children, a daughter of Herman A. Eck and Mabel (Eiswert) Eck-Moore.

A devote catholic, she was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. Ruth was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. A homemaker, she enjoyed canning, baking, she was known for her sweet rolls. Ruth enjoyed the outdoors in the sunshine, especially spending time gardening. Her greatest joy was her family.

Surviving are her husband, Richard W. Hauser, they celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary on October 9, 2023. In addition, she is survived by seven of their children and their families; Richard (Kathy) Hauser of Lost Creek, WV., Stephen (Connie) Hauser of Muncy, Thomas (Karen) Hauser of State College, Pa, Karen (Stephen – deceased) Tucker of Montoursville, Christine (Vincent) Pinti of Clover, SC, Daniel (Susan) Hauser of Rocky Point, NC, Annette (John) Cypher of Cannonsburg, Pa.; 27 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; siblings, Richard Eck, Edward Eck, Jane Dincher, Mary Ann Waldman and Shirley Tripoli.

Ruth was preceded in death by her son; Kenneth Hauser, son-in-law, Stephen Tucker; brothers, Alfred, Francis, Joseph, Lawrence, James and Leonard Eck; sisters, Margaret "Peg" Bubb, Dorothy Fischer, Eileen Hamm and Joan Marie Cahn

The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 from 6-7:30pm at the Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport PA 17701.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport PA 17701. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contribution in Ruth's name may be made to, St. Ann Catholic Church.
