Vilma Caschera, 96, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly, at UPMC Williamsport on March 2, 2024.

She was born in Williamsport on September 8, 1927, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary (Cerocchi) Salvador.

Vilma was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Christian Women Society. She is now a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She worked as a seamstress for Wundies and baked for her friend Joanna's Italian Bakery.

She enjoyed bowling at ABC Lanes. Vilma was also a member of the Senior Citizen's STEP Program at the Loyalsock Community Center, she was an avid reader, enjoyed watching Penn State, the Yankees, and Notre Dame play. She was always ready for 3 o'clock coffee with her family and friends, who were her main focus in life.

Surviving are her daughters and their families; Diane (Ken) Andrus of Montoursville, Theresa Caschera and Carla Cipolla of Loyalsock, and MaryJo Campana of Williamsport; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, a brother Americo and a sister Anna Salvador preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St. Montoursville by her pastor, Rev. Michael McCormick officiating at 11:00am on Thursday, March 7, 2024 with a luncheon at the church hall to follow.

Burial at Wildwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully suggested memorial contributions in Vilma's name be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tn 38105 or Central PA Food Bank, 3301 Wahoo Dr., Williamsport, PA 17701.
