Vincent Edward Quick Jr. of Williamsport left this world with grace and dignity on July 17th in his home surrounded by his loving family. Vince didn't lose his battle with cancer. He won with every laugh and smile, every brave day of treatment, and every plan he made for the future. The cancer is dead, but Vince's memory lives on and we have faith that we will see him again.

Vince built a life of honesty, integrity, perseverance, and most importantly, unconditional support for the people he loved. He met the love of his life, Laura, in 1974. Together, they grew a beautiful family. Eric and Amber were the greatest accomplishments of his life. Through his example of love, they found partners, Sophie and Jake, who Vince easily and without question embraced as his children. And his granddaughter Freddie is the perfect blend of the love, laughter, and light that Vince shared.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and carried that sense of duty forward into every chapter of his life. While serving, he learned the electrical trade, which he would ply until his retirement. He was an obedient adherent to Ohm's Law, a great charge he took up with little resistance.

A proud union man, Vince knew the value of hard work, and the value of those who work hard. He was slow to anger and quick with a smile, a word of encouragement, a helping hand, and a corny joke. When he looked at others, from close family to perfect strangers, his eye found their decency and dignity first.

He loved the family cabin so much, he rebuilt it several times, most of them necessary. Nothing brought him more join than watching his granddaughter's eye light up as she played, sang, and learned to fish. Once a Scoutmaster who mentored many young men to the rank of Eagle Scout, he took great pride in watching her begin her Scouting journey as a Cub Scout.

He leaves behind a legacy measured in the lives made better for his having been part of them, including his family, nieces and nephews, many friends, and countless boy scouts. The crowded living room that served as a living wake over the last few days, was a testament to the love he spread.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Laura, his children Eric (Sophie) and Amber (Jake), his beloved granddaughter Freddie, his sisters, Janetta and Sister Mary Vincent (God), his best buddy Bernie (Steph) and so many loved nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent and Mary Berrigan Quick, his dear brother Bill, and his infant son Kyle, who he can finally hold.

A memorial service to celebrate Vince's life will be held over Labor Day weekend at the family cabin. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield, Connecticut, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Penn Medicine oncology.
